Work Environment

Work in jobsite settings at customer facilities. Personal protective equipment is provided by the employer, excluding safety shoes. This hands-on role involves working alongside experienced technicians, offering on-the-job training and career advancement opportunities in the fire protection industry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead technician with reviewing and understanding new project information.
  • Work in compliance with industry standards and codes such as NFPA 72, NFPA 17, and NEC.
  • Use hand and power tools for mechanical work and installation tasks.
  • Pull wire through conduit, walls, and drop ceilings as part of system installations.
  • Bend, cut, and install conduit following the NEC code.
  • Obtain and maintain relevant certifications and credentials.
  • Support technicians during fire systems testing, inspection, and service calls.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and electricity fundamentals.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overnight shifts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school experience is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as NICET, OSHA, BICSI, ICC, or Electrician License are a plus.
  • Prior experience installing fire alarms and/or fire suppression systems.
  • Experience installing in industrial and commercial environments.
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work on ladders or at heights.
  • Positive attitude and desire to learn.
