Wolverine Fire Protection is looking for a Senior Estimator who will be responsible for overseeing fire protection estimation and ensuring the successful profitability of projects.

Responsibilities

Job Duties/Responsibilities for Senior Estimator:

  • Review blueprints, specs, and addenda to prepare detailed material takeoffs, labor, and equipment cost calculations for large-scale projects.
  • Ensure all designs and estimates adhere to NFPA standards and local building codes.
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing to secure competitive bids.
  • Analyze, value engineering, and strategize margins to ensure profitability, often for complex projects.
  • Work with engineering, project management, and sales teams to align on scope and facilitate project handoff.
  • Provide guidance to junior estimators, review their work, and maintain accurate, organized documentation.

Job Requirements

Requirements for Senior Estimator:

  • Deep understanding of NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 14, 20) and fire protection system design.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret construction documents.
  • Strong negotiation skills to interact with contractors and clients.
  • Self-driven with superior follow-through skills and timely response to request for information
