Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of fire sprinkler systems:
- Handle tools and equipment under supervision.
- Measure, cut, and thread pipes according to specifications.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of pipes, valves, and fittings.
- Support the mounting and positioning of sprinkler heads.
- Collaborate with installation team:
- Work closely with senior technicians to ensure efficient installation processes.
- Follow instructions and guidelines provided by the team.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks.
- Conduct pre-installation preparations:
- Assist in reviewing blueprints and system designs.
- Prepare the work area by clearing obstacles and ensuring accessibility.
- Help gather necessary tools, materials, and equipment for the installation.
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations:
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with industry standards and local fire codes during installations.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to senior technicians.
- Learn and develop technical skills:
- Actively engage in training sessions and workshops related to fire sprinkler installation.
- Familiarize yourself with different types of fire sprinkler systems and their components.
- Seek guidance from senior team members to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Entry-level position suitable for candidates with little or no prior experience in fire sprinkler systems
Previous exposure to construction, plumbing, or mechanical work is beneficial but not mandatory
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed on construction or commercial job sites
May involve indoor and outdoor environments with varying weather conditions
Requires physical activity such as lifting materials, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
Standard construction schedule, which may include early start times and occasional overtime depending on project needs
Training and Development
On-the-job training under experienced fire sprinkler technicians
Exposure to fire protection system installation standards and procedures
