The Gigafactory Texas design team strives to create the factory of the future by overseeing the design of cutting-edge large-scale equipment and utility systems in support of highly innovating manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Work with the Fire Protection Team to prepare designs, hydraulic calculations, stock listing, and installation drawings
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting tight design deadlines and respond RFIs to meet construction deadlines
  • Produce 3D construction drawings and 3D models for different types of fire suppression and life safety systems using Revit, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and Navisworks
  • Lead in-field design validation and preparation of as-built drawings and maintain project drawing files, associated records, and documentation
  • Develop Revit families, standard details, and manage BIM files
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and fire regulations

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or RME-G licensed is preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of fire sprinkler design experience
  • NICET certification for water-based fire protection systems layout
  • Proficiency in 3D software, such as Auto CAD, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto and Bluebeam
  • Experience with HydraCAD, HydraCALC, or other sprinkler design programs
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14 and so on
