Responsibilities

As a Union Fire Sprinkler Fitter, you will

  • Perform repairs and Installation associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment in accordance with all national and local standards.
  • Install, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps
  • Complete required documentation, including repair recommendations
  • Assist management with quoting repairs and tenant improvements
  • Follow and maintain highly structured schedules
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed.
  • Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and assist with training
  • Work overtime when needed
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain vehicle stock, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow corporate policies related to vehicle use and care.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Willing to become or a member of the UA Local Union
  • A minimum of 5 Years of experience working with Fire Sprinkler systems
  • Certified Training
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Ability to read and understand design and construction documents
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must have good customer-facing and customer service skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
  • On-call rotation
  • Train apprentices on proper installation technique

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience estimating Service repairs
  • Experience with servicing all types of fixed extinguishing systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
