Responsibilities
As a Union Fire Sprinkler Fitter, you will
- Perform repairs and Installation associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment in accordance with all national and local standards.
- Install, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps
- Complete required documentation, including repair recommendations
- Assist management with quoting repairs and tenant improvements
- Follow and maintain highly structured schedules
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed.
- Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site
- Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and assist with training
- Work overtime when needed
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
- Maintain vehicle stock, tools, and equipment.
- Follow corporate policies related to vehicle use and care.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Willing to become or a member of the UA Local Union
- A minimum of 5 Years of experience working with Fire Sprinkler systems
- Certified Training
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- Ability to read and understand design and construction documents
- Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
- Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must have good customer-facing and customer service skills
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
- On-call rotation
- Train apprentices on proper installation technique
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating Service repairs
- Experience with servicing all types of fixed extinguishing systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
