Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 per year (Negotiable based on experience)
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $125,000 – $130,000

Scutum is seeking an experienced Account Representative – Service Sales to develop and grow our fire alarm, ARCS, electronic security, and central station service contracts.

In this role, you will work primarily with Property Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Building Owners across the hospitality, residential, and assisted-living sectors. You will manage the entire sales lifecycle—from initial prospecting and building surveys to proposals, negotiations, and closing deals.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Prospect and build a strong book of recurring service accounts; pursue fire alarm, security, ARCS, and central station service contracts.
  • Account Growth: Grow revenue across existing accounts and actively develop new territories.
  • Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients, focusing on Property Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Building Owners.
  • Consultative Selling: Identify client requirements, conduct building surveys to support estimates, and recommend suitable service solutions.
  • Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to win profitable service contracts, negotiating pricing and terms through to close.
  • Collaboration: Maintain consistent communication with clients and collaborate internally with Service, Project Operations, Accounting, and other teams.
  • Reporting: Maintain sales activity reporting and support semi-annual and annual sales planning.

Job Requirements

Required Education & Experience

  • Industry Experience: Proven sales experience within fire alarm, life-safety, and/or electronic security systems. Experience selling service, maintenance, or recurring-revenue agreements is highly desirable.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire alarm, ARCS, electronic security, and central station systems. Ability to read and interpret life-safety system blueprints and schematics.
  • Codes & Regulations: Understanding of relevant Building Codes and NFPA fire alarm requirements.
  • Target Audience Familiarity: Experience working with Property Managers, Building Owners, or similar commercial clients across hospitality, residential, and assisted-living markets.
  • Sales Skills: Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, closing, presentation, and time-management skills.
  • Education: Two-year business or related degree, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
