Lead Fire Alarm Technician – Immediate Start
Scorpion Fire & Safety – South Florida (Miami / Fort Lauderdale / Palm Beach)
We are not looking for someone to train.
We need a seasoned Lead Fire Alarm Technician who can walk onto the job site Day 1, open the plans, run the crew, program the panel, pass the AHJ inspection, and keep the schedule on track — no hand-holding
Pay & Benefits (Experienced Techs Only):
- $26 – $40 per hour base (commensurate with certifications and proven track record)
- Overtime after 8 hours (we work 50–55+ hours most weeks)

Responsibilities
Daily Responsibilities:
- Lead installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of new systems
- Perform service calls, trouble-clearing, and annual NFPA 72 inspections
- Supervise and train helpers/apprentices already on payroll (you are not being hired to be trained)
- Complete red-lined as-builts and close out paperwork the same week
- Interface directly with general contractors, building owners, and AHJs
Job Requirements
What You Bring:
- Minimum 7+ years field experience specifically in fire alarm systems (installation, programming, service, and takeover work)
- Current NICET Level III or Level IV in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II will not be considered for this lead role)
- Expert-level knowledge of Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Edwards/EST, Siemens, and Gamewell-FCI systems
- Proven programming experience with NFS-320, NFS2-640, NFS2-3030, ONYXWorks, and Silent Knight 6820/6820EVS panels
- Ability to read and red-line blueprints on site, perform voltage drop calculations, and supervise 2–4 techs/helpers daily
- Clean driving record and ability to pass background/drug screens (required for high-security jobs we service)
- Current Florida FASA/BASA card or ability to obtain immediately
- Experience with takeover/retrofit projects, radio boxes, cellular communicators, and cloud-based monitoring platforms
- Strong troubleshooting skills on legacy and addressable systems — you can find the ground fault in under 15 minutes
