Position OverviewMarksman Security is seeking professional, alert, and customer-focused Seasonal Event Security Officers to support large-scale markets and special events in High Point, NC. Officers will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for exhibitors, buyers, staff, and guests.This is a seasonal position aligned with major market events and trade shows, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and extended shifts as an on call position.
Work Environment
- Large indoor showroom and event facilities
- Outdoor posts may be required
- High-traffic, fast-paced environment during peak market days
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a visible security presence throughout market buildings and event spaces
- Monitor entrances, exits, loading docks, and credential checkpoints
- Verify badges, credentials, and access permissions
- Conduct routine patrols (interior and exterior) to ensure safety and compliance
- Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, medical calls, and emergencies
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports
- Assist with crowd management and traffic flow during high-volume periods
- Support exhibitors and guests with directions and general assistance
- Enforce property rules and safety regulations in a professional manner
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid North Carolina Security Guard registration preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Previous security, military, law enforcement, or event experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Professional appearance and demeanor required
- Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 8–12 hours
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate large event spaces
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
