Fire Sprinkler Technician needed for a Direct hire opportunity with SOC’s client to work in Indian Head, MD.*Must possess a secret clearance or able to obtain*
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, applicable codes, and client requirements
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems
- Identify deficiencies, troubleshoot system issues, and recommend corrective actions
- Accurately document inspection results, deficiencies, and completed work
- Coordinate with project managers, site personnel, and inspectors as needed
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure they are in safe working condition
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements
- This position will require a pre-employment physical exam
- This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)
- You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent years of experience
- NICET Level I certification
- 2+ years of experience inspecting, installing, or maintaining fire sprinkler systems
- Ability to safely install or modify various types of sprinkler piping apparatus such as copper, black iron and galvanized steel
- Knowledge of applicable NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 13, 25)
- Ability to read and interpret system drawings, plans, and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
- Must be able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items
- Must be able to go up and down stairs, where applicable
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen, as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level II and III certifications
- State or local fire sprinkler technician license
- Experience working in industrial, federal, or secured facilities
- Navy or Department of Defense experience is strongly preferred
