Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms, fire detection systems, sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, VESDA systems, and dry and wet risers.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify deficiencies, diagnose system issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
- Assist with the installation, modification, commissioning, and upgrading of fire protection and life safety equipment and systems.
- Review assigned work orders and utilize CMMS and other available systems to document activities, track work progress, and ensure timely completion.
- Support regulatory compliance initiatives by ensuring all fire and life safety systems meet applicable NFPA standards, local codes, client requirements, and safety regulations.
- Perform system testing, inspections, and documentation required by regulatory agencies, insurance providers, and client standards.
- Partner with site operations, engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to support fire protection projects and system reliability efforts.
- Use established procedures and industry best practices to resolve routine technical issues while escalating complex problems as appropriate.
- Communicate inspection findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions clearly and professionally to management and stakeholders.
- Follow defined processes, safety procedures, and maintenance standards while delivering high-quality service and supporting overall facility life safety objectives.
Job Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
- Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
