About the Role
Our current opening is for a Fire Safety Field Engineer (Technician) working in our Springfield, MO office. This role is responsible for programming, installing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems while ensuring projects are completed to quality standards and customer satisfaction. The Fire Safety Field Engineer serves as a technical expert in the field, supporting system installation, diagnostics, and customer needs while adhering to life safety codes and company standards.

- Install, program, test, and commission fire alarm systems on assigned projects
- Troubleshoot and repair fire safety systems at customer locations
- Ensure quality completion of projects and adherence to specifications
- Read and interpret project plans, drawings, and technical documentation
- Utilize hand tools and electrical instruments for mounting, assembling, testing, and programming systems
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system issues efficiently
- Document all work performed, including job reports and system records
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout project execution
- Work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends as required
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license required. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation, including criminal and motor vehicle check.
Required Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Working knowledge of fire alarm systems and life safety standards
- Familiarity with electrical instruments and system diagnostics
- Understanding of local and wide area networking concepts
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans

- Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities effectively

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of fire systems, electrical tools, networking, and life safety/security codes and standards
