AUX Partners works closely with a family owned life safety company that is searching for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician. This would be a full-time position with above average compensation, benefits, bonus potential, and the opportunity to work with a close-knit team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Install, program, service, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial fire alarm systems.
- Diagnose system troubles, ground faults, communication issues, device failures, and other fire alarm system problems.
- Perform fire alarm inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
- Test initiating devices, notification appliances, control equipment, power supplies, batteries, and associated fire alarm components.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
- Perform system programming, device replacement, and system modifications.
- Coordinate with customers, project managers, inspectors, and other trades as needed.
- Ensure installations and service work comply with applicable NFPA standards, local codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
- Accurately document service calls, inspections, deficiencies, programming changes, and completed work.
- Provide a high level of professionalism and customer service while representing Watchmen in the field.
- Assist and mentor less-experienced technicians when needed.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial fire alarm experience preferred.
- Strong experience troubleshooting and servicing fire alarm systems.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable fire alarm codes and standards.
- Ability to read blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience with fire alarm system programming and commissioning is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Potter fire alarm systems is a plus.
- NICET certification is preferred and will be considered in compensation.
- Strong electrical and low-voltage troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to use ladders, lifts, hand tools, testing equipment, and other equipment associated with commercial fire alarm work.
