Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Coordinate, collect, disseminate, and intervene in a manner that anticipates, prevents,
identifies, evaluates, and controls hazards.

  • Maintain continuous survey readiness through compliance with regulations from various regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance of the Environment of Care (EOC) program, including fire, hazardous materials safety and security/waste/utilities/emergency management (EM).  Maintain documentation of findings and improvements.
  • Identify risks based on regulatory interpretation and other methods, and apply to policy creation.
  • Monitor potential and actual environmental hazards. Participate in root and apparent cause analysis and recommends remedial and corrective action.
  • Lead emergency coordination (EC) rounding activities, EC/EM related education, and EOC/EM Committee(s).

Job Requirements

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Certified Certification specializing in Health Safety preferred.
  • Certification credentialed from the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (BCHCM). Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  • Experience in health care/hospital setting HIGHLY desired
  • Safety, Emergency Management, Facilities Management
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
