Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician           Location: Charlotte, NCPay Rate: $25-35Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm / Electronic Security Technician to join our team. In this role, you will install, program, service, and maintain a variety of fire alarm and electronic security systems while delivering exceptional customer support. This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, program, test, and service fire alarm, life safety, and electronic security systems.
  • Perform system inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs using standard tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to determine installation and service procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Analyze system performance, identify malfunctions, and implement corrective solutions.
  • Complete system commissioning, start-up, and close-out documentation.
  • Ensure all systems meet applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to support project execution and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in mentoring and training less experienced technicians.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Travel to job sites as required and support multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Associate degree in Electronics or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in field service or electronic systems (preferred).
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, electronic security systems, and building automation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles (e.g., Ohm’s Law, relay logic).
  • Experience with installation tools and equipment (drills, wire strippers, crimpers, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Certifications & Licenses

  • NICET Level II – Fire Alarm Systems (preferred/required depending on jurisdiction)
  • Local/State Electrical License (as required)
  • EST4 Certification (preferred)
