We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm / Electronic Security Technician to join our team. In this role, you will install, program, service, and maintain a variety of fire alarm and electronic security systems while delivering exceptional customer support. This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a customer-first mindset.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, test, and service fire alarm, life safety, and electronic security systems.
- Perform system inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs using standard tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to determine installation and service procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Analyze system performance, identify malfunctions, and implement corrective solutions.
- Complete system commissioning, start-up, and close-out documentation.
- Ensure all systems meet applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to support project execution and continuous improvement.
- Assist in mentoring and training less experienced technicians.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Travel to job sites as required and support multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Associate degree in Electronics or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in field service or electronic systems (preferred).
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems, electronic security systems, and building automation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles (e.g., Ohm’s Law, relay logic).
- Experience with installation tools and equipment (drills, wire strippers, crimpers, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Certifications & Licenses
- NICET Level II – Fire Alarm Systems (preferred/required depending on jurisdiction)
- Local/State Electrical License (as required)
- EST4 Certification (preferred)
