We are seeking a dynamic Electrical Quality Control Manager to join our team for an exciting Data Center project in Northern Virginia. This role involves supporting and executing MEP and commissioning efforts on large-scale, mission-critical, and data center projects. You will report to the Director of MEP/Commissioning and lead day-to-day MEP coordination and commissioning activities, ensuring systems meet project requirements, schedules, and budgets. The position requires 30% travel to other sites across the nation.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/hr.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage all MEP and commissioning activities from preconstruction through system turnover and closeout on mission-critical and data center projects.
  • Coordinate with designers, trade partners, vendors, commissioning agents, and clients to ensure alignment with performance criteria, redundancy requirements, and operational expectations.
  • Develop and manage detailed commissioning and startup schedules integrated into the master project schedule, including milestone tracking and phased system turnover.
  • Oversee the full commissioning lifecycle for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low-voltage systems.
  • Review and validate drawings, specifications, submittals, testing procedures, and O&M manuals to ensure constructability, compliance, and system interoperability.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate risks to system reliability, redundancy, and uptime; experience with Tier I–IV facilities is strongly preferred.
  • Ensure system handover meets owner requirements, including complete documentation, test results, training, and operational readiness.
  • Act as the primary liaison for all MEP and commissioning-related scopes, both internally and externally, with clear ownership of communication and accountability.
  • Coordinate closely with owners, design teams, trade partners, commissioning authorities, and facility operators to maintain transparency on progress, risks, and resolution strategies.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills

  • Commissioning Experience with UPS's and Switchgears
  • Data Center experience
  • Openness to traveling
  • Experience with mission-critical, plumbing, low voltage systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of construction experience, preferably with mission-critical, data center, or technically complex projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, Procore, Bluebeam
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, cost management, and field operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical/problem-solving abilities, and the ability to prioritize and maintain schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

Work Environment

This position is based in the Sterling, VA office, with travel to Data Centers in the Manassas and Leesburg areas. The role involves nationwide travel to various Data Centers as needed.
