Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate estimates, budgets, and proposals for new installations, retrofits, and service projects.
- Perform site assessments and interpret drawings/specs to determine NFPA 72, NYC Building Code, and FDNY requirements.
- Create detailed takeoffs (devices, circuits, risers, power/load calcs) and bill of materials.
- Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients to clarify scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Provide Siemens programming support (Cerberus PRO), troubleshooting guidance, and technical submittal input.
- Participate in vendor/subcontractor pricing, value engineering, and risk reviews.
- Support project handoff, ensuring estimates align with execution plans, budgets, and milestones.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience estimating fire alarm systems and managing cost, scope, and risk.
- Proficiency with Siemens fire alarm systems (programming & troubleshooting) a PLUS.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable NYC/FDNY codes and permitting practices.
- High proficiency reading construction documents (plans/specs), performing takeoffs, and preparing proposals.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple bids concurrently.
- S-98 Certificate of Fitness (a Plus)
- Valid driver’s license; ability to visit sites across the NY Metro area.
Preferred
- Prior field/commissioning.
- NICET Fire Alarm certification(s).
