Responsibilities
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Fire Protection Engineer located in Belleville, NJ. The Fire Protection Engineer will design, analyze, and implement fire protection and suppression systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities include conducting fire safety assessments, evaluating existing systems, preparing technical documents, collaborating with design and installation teams, and ensuring safety regulations and requirements are met. The Engineer will also contribute to project planning and provide technical guidance as needed.
Job Requirements
- Proficiency in Fire Protection Engineering principles and practices
- Knowledge of Fire Safety and Life Safety standards and requirements
- Experience with Fire Suppression Systems and related safety technologies
- Background in Safety Engineering and system design
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and fire simulation tools
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification in fire protection is a plus
- Understanding of NFPA codes and standards
